Ton Büchner proposed as new Chairman of the Board of Directors – Hans Peter Wehrli will not stand for re-election in 2020

As part of the ongoing renewal process on the Swiss Prime Site Board of Directors, Ton Büchner (1965) will be proposed to the shareholders for election to the Board of Directors at the next Annual General Meeting on 24 March 2020. At the same time, he is proposed to take over the position of Chairman from Hans Peter Wehrli. Ton Büchner, who holds both Dutch and Swiss citizenship and studied civil engineering, was CEO and Chairman of the Board at the Dutch listed AkzoNobel NV between 2012 and 2017. Before this, he worked for almost 20 years for the Swiss group Sulzer, serving as CEO from 2007 to 2011. Ton Büchner is currently on the Board of Directors and the Audit and Compliance Committee of Novartis AG, and is also on the Presidential and Shareholders Committee of Voith GmbH. His wide-ranging corporate experience and his leadership qualities make him an exceptionally qualified choice for the Swiss Prime Site Board of Directors and for the position of Chairman.

Hans Peter Wehrli will not stand for re-election at the next Annual General Meeting. He was elected to the Swiss Prime Site Board of Directors in 2002, and has been Chairman since 2005. During this time, Swiss Prime Site has seen strong growth both organically and through acquisitions. Moreover, he positioned the company sustainably and developed it into the leading listed real estate company in Switzerland, with a portfolio worth over CHF 11 billion. Hans Peter Wehrli initiated the renewal process within the Board of Directors and is now handing over leadership at a time when Swiss Prime Site is solidly positioned and enjoys promising perspectives.
