Sustainability at Stücki Park
Sustainability exists at a number of levels in Stücki Park. The area is designed for energy efficiency and is supplied with a district heating and cooling system. In combination with high-quality insulation, this system makes the building a particularly environmentally friendly property with a very low CO² footprint.
- PV systems: The PV systems produce around 1,000 MWh per year.The produced electricity flows all back into the in-house power grid and it covers up to 70 % of the electricity requirement.
- Façade greening: Since 2012, plants have been climbing up the facade at Hochbergerstrasse 70 in Stücki Park. The green façade has a positive influence on the microclimate of the building, protects the façade from wear and tear and provides a valuable habitat for animals.
- Certifications: At the end of 2022, Stücki Park was certified with BREEAM In-Use. BREEAM certification (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a method for assessing sustainability. It is used to certify projects, infrastructures and buildings. Launched in 1990 by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), it sets benchmarks for the environmental characteristics of buildings through the design, specification, construction and operation phases. In addition, it has been certified with SNBS 2.0. SNBS ensures that the needs of society, the economy and the environment are taken into account as much as possible during the building planning, construction and operation stages – with a holistic view of the life cycle of the building.
